Casa Takalua is a cozy, rustic, budget-friendly overwater cottage with a vintage-tropical vibe designed to allow guests to have their own private space while still being immersed in a vibrant local community. It's located over the water in front of a local family's home just 40 meters from The Sea Monkey restaurant and hotel. The cottage has its own private entrance, a comfy queen-sized four-poster bed with mosquito net, industrial ceiling fan, a mini-fridge, plenty of shelves for your stuff, and a huge private deck out front with seating and a hammock where you can watch the boats and cayucos go by, spot doplhins and rays, and see local kids playing in the water. The private bathroom has a hot-water shower, plenty of towels, and artisanal soap made by Punta Coco Soaps from local coconut oil.

Breakfast for two and all of the services that come along with a stay at The Sea Monkey are included. We are always available at the restaurant just 40 meters away to get you a water taxi, help plan tours, or provide recommendations for places to eat, drink, snorkel, hike, surf, etc.

*Special note: on Saturdays and Sundays, the local family who live behind the cottage hosts a ladies' card club, often with music. The party always ends by 8 PM, so you won't have to worry about noise at night, but it can get pretty festive in the daytime. You're welcome to join, but be warned: they're serious card players!
