Polo’s Paradise $60 (lunch included)

Polo Beach is the most beautiful beach on Bastimentos and perhaps even in the Bocas del Toro Archipelago. You can enjoy this little piece of paradise by joining us on Polo's Paradise tour!

Number of inhabitants: 1, Mr. Polo himself.

At 10:30 we take off from The Sea Monkey and walk from the authentic Caribbean village of Old Bank right into the jungle. Once we enter the jungle, the wonders of Bastimentos begin to reveal themselves. Tropical fruits left and right. Depending on what we come across, you can try some of these amazing fruits straight from the tree!

As we continue, the trail takes you over farmland and through valleys and offers stunning views of Isla Bastimentos and the surrounding islands of Bocas del Toro.

We sit down on Gabriellito Hill and have a little fruit snack* while enjoying the view of the Caribbean Sea. Along the way, you can learn about the island’s flora, fauna, and medicinal plants and hopefully spot some wildlife!

At around 14:00, we arrive at Polo Beach.

Polo Beach is inhabited by one person, Señor Polo. Although versions of his tale vary, Polo himself says he left Old Bank and moved to this gorgeous beach about 60 years ago at the age of 15. He set up the shack you see today and has been living off of the land and sea for all of his adult life.

Once we arrive, your local guide Titi will help Polo prepare a barbecue lunch for you. For about 3 hours, you’ll have the freedom to snorkel** around the reef right in front of the beach, walk along one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, hang out with Polo, discover more of the jungle, or simply lie back and enjoy the day!

At approximately 16:00 we head to world-famous Red Frog Beach, just in time for happy hour! Once everybody is ready, we take a scenic boat ride back to Old Bank.

Island Hopping to the Zapatillas $50

Grab some snacks, a bottle of water, and maybe a couple of beers and jump on our boat, because you're about to venture off into the first national marine park in all of Panama!

Cayos Zapatillas are two islands plucked straight from a postcard and dropped off of the coast of Isla Bastimentos, Bocas del Toro. They are part of the Isla Bastimentos National Marine Park, which was established in 1988 as the first national marine park in Panama.

Join our local guides for a full day of adventure. Snorkel and relax on the beach at the Zapatillas, snorkel and have lunch at Coral Cay, spot sloths at Sloth Island, and finish the day with a cocktail at the famed Blue Coconut.*

At approximately 10:00 we depart from The Sea Monkey and make our way over to Zapatilla one or two (we choose which one based on conditions and the number of visitors), where you can jump in the water and enjoy the reef, relax on the beach, and explore the interior of the island. Once the crowds start coming in, we take off.

We jump back into the boat and head to Coral Cay for snorkeling and lunch (available for purchase) in one of the most picturesque spots in the whole of the archipelago of Bocas del Toro. Once lunch is over, we head over to Sloth Island to see the sloths Bocas del Toro is known for. Can you spot them?

The best way to end a perfect day is with a cocktail at the famed Blue Coconut, a bar/restaurant located over the reef on Isla Solarte. It’s a great spot for one final snorkel session before we return by boat.

* Blue Coconut has a varied schedule, but not to worry! If they’re closed, we can either stay at the beach longer or stop at another overwater bar such as the Floating Bar.

(We adjust our schedule based on our clients’ wishes and might deviate from the above depending on conditions, but your guide will keep you apprised of any itinerary changes.)
